Dr. Barnica is the first fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon in the Las Cruces area. He has a special interest in the prevention and surgical treatment of colon and rectal cancer, applying advanced techniques in minimally invasive surgery. He is honored to join Memorial Medical Center’s surgical team and take part in caring for the Las Cruces community. Dr. Barnica is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Barnica obtained his medical degree at Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla, Mexico, then completed his General Surgery training at Mercy Catholic Medical Center and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at Foxchase Cancer Center/Temple University, both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He finished his surgical training after completing a subspecialty in Colon and Rectal surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Dr. Barnica is Board Certified.

Dr. Dieker grew up in Las Cruces, completed her undergraduate degree at NMSU, and is proud to return home to serve this community. Dr. Dieker is committed to providing the latest surgical techniques for the people of southern New Mexico with a personalized, compassionate touch. Dr. Dieker received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas and did her residency in General Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso. She completed a Fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the Texas Endosurgery Institute in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Dieker is Board Certified.

Dr. Macias is a multi-lingual (English/Spanish/Italian), highly trained surgeon. He has researched, published and presented on a wide variety of surgery-related topics all over the world. He has a passion for all areas of open and laparoscopic gastro-intestinal surgery and is an expert in the surgical treatment of renal disease. Dr. Macias previously taught and practiced on the east coast and is extremely happy to be a part of the Las Cruces community.
Dr. Macias earned his Masters in Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and his MD at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) in Argentina. He served his General Surgery Residency at UBA and at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. He completed a Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Macias is Board Certified.

Dr. Ramirez is a highly respected surgeon who has been in private practice in Las Cruces for more than 30 years. In May, he became a part of General Surgery Associates. Dr. Ramirez is Board Certified.

Dr. Robinson has gained experience by serving in various sectors in the medical field in both Georgia and New Mexico. As a surgeon, physician, and instructor, he has enjoyed several different positions with medical schools, hospitals, and medical centers. Dr. Robinson completed his Doctor of Medicine at Tulane Medical School. Also, the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine awarded Dr. Kermie Robinson a Master’s degree in Public Health .
After graduating from Tulane, he carried out his surgical residency at Flushing Medical Center in New York. Today, Kermie Robinson, MD is board certified and serves as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Robinson specializes in bariatric surgery, minimally invasive intestinal surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and minimally invasive hernia surgery. Dr. Robinson is Board Certified.
