Dr. Fontan states, “heartburn surgery has a tremendous impact in the quality of life of those that suffer from chronic reflux symptoms. Patients elect to undergo surgery either because they develop complications from reflux disease, they fail medication therapy, they want to be off medications, or because they suffer from medication related side effects. At the Memorial Heartburn Center, we count with the diagnostic armamentarium and an interdisciplinary group of highly motivated professionals to tailor therapy to each individual in order to achieve the best possible outcome”.
