Matthew Arenibas, DNP, FNP a New Mexico native, graduated from New Mexico State University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and is a Board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Over the last 16 years, Matthew has served in various departments of the hospital such as critical care and the emergency department. He now serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Memorial Urgent Care as well as in the MMC Emergency Department. In his time off, he enjoys spending time with his family.
Elissa is a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing. She is an American Midwifery Certification Board Certified Nurse Midwife and a Certified Nurse Midwife with the US Navy Reserve. In addition, she is part of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the Georgetown CNM Preceptor and the Walden University FNP Preceptor.
Justin graduated Sigma Cum Laude from Carson Newman University with his master of nursing degree. Since then, he has worked on the east coast as a nurse practitioner. When he's not working in the Urgent Care Center, he enjoys fishing, mountaineering, weight lifting, and range shooting.
Mr. San Shields is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been affiliated with MMC since 1985. He has served this hospital and the Las Cruces community in numerous capacities acquiring a broad range of clinical skills in the urgent care and emergency medicine arenas. Originally from Wisconsin, Mr. Shields settled in Las Cruces following an honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1971. Mr. Shields is well versed in the compassionate delivery of urgent care medicine having worked in virtually every urgent care clinic in Las Cruces over the past 15 years. Mr. Shields is especially focused on a quality lifestyle that embraces a whole food-plantbased diet, active yoga practice, life-long learning thru world travel and adult education.

Ryan Sterling finished his Bachelor’s of Nursing at the University of Texas at El Paso in Nursing. He completed his Masters of Nursing with a focus in Family Practice from Walden University. Ryan has working experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Room (ER), Infusion Therapy, Psychiatry and Family Medicine. Ryan possesses training and advanced certifications in Adult and Child Resuscitation and Trauma. Ryan is licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in both Texas and New Mexico.
